Lieutenant General Liu, Commander of the Reserve Command, visited Hualien yesterday to commend the Hualien County Reserve Command and the Hualien County Reserve Brigade. He expressed his appreciation to the reserve officers and soldiers who work diligently to safeguard the security of eastern Taiwan, and encouraged everyone to maintain a proactive attitude and uphold the belief that “defending our land is our duty and protecting our homes is an honor,” demonstrating strong reserve defense capabilities.

       Commander Liu stated that in the face of current international developments and regional security challenges, strengthening military–civilian cooperation has become a key task for the Reserve Command. Only by establishing a well-coordinated mechanism can the greatest effectiveness be achieved in both national security and disaster relief missions.

       Commander Liu pointed out that Hualien lies in a seismic zone and is often hit by typhoons, making natural disasters frequent and disaster prevention missions even more critical. He urged the reserve officers and soldiers to care for and help the people during disaster relief operations, while continuing to sharpen their professional skills and diligently carry out combat training tasks to protect the nation.
