Lieutenant General Yu Wen-chen, a native of Taichung, was born in 1970. He graduated from the R.O.C. Military Academy (Batch79), the Command and General Staff Officer Course (Batch92), the War College (Batch97), and later earned a master’s degree in National Security and Mainland China Studies from National Chengchi University (Batch103).Throughout his career, he has served in numerous key command and staff roles, including Deputy Commander of the Northern Training Center, Chief of Staff of the Penghu Defense Command, Commander of the 333rd Brigade and Southern Training Center, Director of the Mobilization Management Division at the All-out Defense Mobilization Agency, Deputy Commander of the 8th Army Corps, Commander of the Hualien Defense Command, and Commander of the Training and Doctrine Development Command.

Lieutenant General Yu assumed command on December 1, 2025, dedicating his efforts to advancing military mobilization, strengthening military–civilian cooperation, and enhancing civil coordination mechanisms. Acting as a vital bridge between the armed forces and the public, he has focused on building national defense resilience across society.He places strong emphasis on professional development and readiness among service members, upholding the values of honor, discipline, and professionalism. Under his leadership, the reserve mobilization system continues to be refined with the goal of developing a more robust reserve force — one capable of defending the nation, safeguarding communities, and protecting critical assets.
