Commander Lt. Gen. Liu of the Reserve Command hosted the “2025 Miaoli County Reservists Promotion and Cadre Recognition Ceremony” yesterday. Miaoli County Mayor Zhong Dongjin and several local dignitaries and representatives attended to share in the joy of the promoted personnel, highlighting close civil-military cooperation and laying a solid foundation for national defense through joint efforts.

        The ceremony began with Commander Liu conferring ranks on promoted reservists and presenting awards to exemplary reserve cadres and other honorees, acknowledging their contributions to national defense and disaster relief efforts. The event featured local specialty booths, live calligraphy demonstrations by artists, and a recruitment zone, with enthusiastic participation from reservist counseling center staff across the county.

         In his speech, Commander Liu stated that facing the growing military threat from China, our national defense system is encountering unprecedented challenges. The military is focusing on restructuring forces and enhancing combat readiness, prioritizing the rapid development of asymmetric warfare capabilities and reforms to strengthen reserve forces. Drawing lessons from the Ukraine-Russia war, the emphasis is on improving reserve force capabilities, integrating military and civilian resources, and bolstering mobilization efforts to build a resilient defense and safeguard national security.
