General Cheng, the Deputy Commander, Receives the President of General Court-Martial

Major General Jin, President of General Court-Martial of Ministry of National Defense, visited us recently. Representing the Armed Forces Reserve Command, General Cheng, the Deputy Commander, received him, and exchanged opinions with him on the annual planning of the “sergeant supervisor preliminary training for administration by law”, in order to better understand the actual effect.

President Jin noted that the purpose of the training was to use sergeants as the bridge between command and sergeant soldiers to take charge of training soldiers’ warfare skills, taking care of their lives, and executing assigned missions. The training also provided recommendations for management tasks in accordance with their functional characteristics in the hope that, through respective phases of training and certification, military cadre’s perception of “administration by law” would be reinforced and the lawful quality of rank-and-file sergeants would be elevated. In addition to appreciating the precious opportunity provided by the General Court-Martial, Deputy Commander Cheng also encouraged our sergeants to be well equipped with the basic capacity for discerning law-involving risks through the training, so they could offer prompt assistance or referral and, in the end, become the nexus for the coordination of military law affairs which would further strengthen acts of military justice.
