Director presides over groundbreaking for expanded veterans shrine

To provide a resting and memorial place for soldiers and their families, the Armed Forces Reserve Command, All-Out Defense Mobilization Agency recently held the groundbreaking ceremony for the expanded project of the veterans shrine in Yanchao District, Kaohsiung. The event was presided over by Director Bai and attended by local government leaders, senior military officials, and the engineering team. The ceremony included rituals such as burning incense and praying for blessings and breaking ground with a gold shovel, praying for the timely and quality completion of the project. The Kaohsiung City Veterans Shine, located in the scenic area of Chengcing Lake, can no longer meet burial needs due to a shortage of niches. To address this, the Ministry of National Defense is constructing the Yaochao Veterans Shrine. This facility will have 4 stories above ground and 2 stories below, with auxiliary features like a service desk, management office, memorial hall, and rest areas. The project is expected to be completed by 2027 and will provide space for over 58,000 niches.

Director Bai urged the construction, supervision, and management units to closely coordinate, enhance risk control, and emphasize quality and progress management. He also emphasized the spirit of "serving the fallen soldiers," ensuring the project is completed on time and with high quality to benefit the burial needs of military personnel and their families.
