Commander Yu Visits Central Region Counselling Centers, Urging Stronger Local Mobilization

       Lieutenant General Yu, Commander of the Reserve Command, recently visited the reserve counseling centers in Nantou, Changhua, and Chiayi counties to review the progress of reserve counseling efforts and assess the effectiveness of local coordination mechanisms. He was accompanied by Political Warfare Director Major General Zhu and Central Region Reserve Command Commander Major General Tao. During the visits, Commander Yu held discussions with counseling officers at each center, receiving briefings and feedback on their work. The sessions gave him a firsthand look at how each center is carrying out its duties and what practical needs they face on the ground. He offered guidance and encouragement to the officers based on what he learned.

       During the visits, Commander Yu expressed his appreciation to the counseling centers for their preparation and support of the 2026 Urban Resilience Exercise. He commended their strong sense of mission and commitment to execution, noting that their efforts have translated all-out defense and reserve mobilization objectives into concrete action, making a significant contribution to local defense resilience and overall emergency response capabilities. He also praised the centers for their long-standing collaboration with local governments and community resources in disaster preparedness and response, all-out defense promotion, troop appreciation activities, emergency assistance, and community service. These efforts, he noted, have not only strengthened solidarity among reserve personnel but also highlighted the vital role of reserve organizations in serving local communities and supporting national defense.

       Commander Yu also carefully reviewed every suggestion and request raised by the counseling centers, discussing them with the relevant officers to develop practical solutions. He instructed the responsible units to provide formal responses as soon as possible and actively assist in resolving grassroots issues, demonstrating the command's commitment to listening to frontline personnel and providing meaningful support. In closing, Commander Yu encouraged counseling officers at all levels to maintain their dedication and spirit of service, strengthen cooperation with local governments and civic organizations, and enhance both organizational effectiveness and mobilization support capabilities.
