Minister Thanks Staff for National Day Support

Minister of National Defense Wellington Koo recently visited the military units that took part in the 2026 National Day Celebration to commend them for their hard work and present funds for a special meal in recognition of their efforts. Highlights of this year’s celebration included a CH-47SD Chinook helicopter carrying a giant national flag and AJT Brave Eagle advanced jet trainers making a finale flyover above the Presidential Office Building while releasing red, white, and blue smoke. These spectacular displays demonstrated the ROC Armed Forces’ combat readiness and added to the solemnity of the celebration.
During the visit, Minister Koo thanked all military units involved in the National Day Celebration and presented funds for a special meal in recognition of their dedication. He also commended their teamwork and effective execution of assigned tasks. Before concluding the visit, he reminded personnel to prioritize safety and health, maintain a balanced schedule, and stay physically fit so they could perform their duties to the best of their abilities and demonstrate the military’s discipline and rigorous training.
For this year’s National Day Celebration, the headquarters was primarily responsible for preparing the emergency response center, arranging parking for service vehicles, and planning rest areas for participating personnel. Anticipating the heavy flow of people and vehicles and the diverse operational needs during the event, the headquarters assessed requirements in advance and carefully planned the venue layout and traffic flow. Through practical and thorough preparations, it successfully completed its assignments and provided reliable support for this important national event.
