Boosting Defense Awareness, Enhancing Reserve Readiness

To promote collaboration and exchange among Reserve Counseling Centers across the country, Lieutenant General Liu, Commander of the All-Out Defense Mobilization Agency, recently hosted the 46th National Alliance Conference for Reserve' Counseling Centers from six regions. The event was held at the Wagor International Convention Center in Taichung, accompanied by senior officers including Chief of Staff Major General Hsieh, Director of Political Warfare Major General Hu, Central Region Commander Major General Tao, Northern Region Commander Major General Lee, and Southern Region Commander Major General Wang. More than 600 reserve counseling officers from Keelung’s Xinyi District, Taipei’s Wenshan District, Taoyuan’s Taoyuan District, Taichung’s East District, Kaohsiung’s Xinxing District, and Hualien City gathered for the event, demonstrating strong unity and unwavering dedication.

The “National Alliance Conference for Reserve Counseling Centers of Six Regions” was first held in Hualien County in 1979. Over the years, it has continued to foster unity among reserve forces from northern, central, and southern Taiwan through training and outreach activities. These efforts have helped build a solid foundation for national defense, enhance the quality and mobilization effectiveness of reserve officers, and promote the core principle of “being a good soldier in service and a good citizen in society.”This year’s conference, hosted in Taichung City, not only reflects the city’s commitment to national defense but also strengthens the partnership among the six participating regions. Together, they aim to build an unbreakable line of defense to safeguard the safety and property of the people.

Commander Liu emphasized that the Reserve Counseling Centers in each city and county serve as a vital bridge between the military and local communities. He praised the long-standing dedication of reserve counseling officers, who have made outstanding contributions to disaster response, mobilization exercises, and the promotion of national defense policies—earning recognition across all sectors. Among the various alliance organizations nationwide, the alliance formed by Keelung, Taipei, Taoyuan, Taichung, Kaohsiung, and Hualien stands out for its deep historical roots, large scale, and strong cohesion. Commander Liu expressed hope that all reserve counseling officers will continue to uphold the spirit of patriotism and devotion to their communities, playing a key role in advancing and integrating all-out national defense. He urged all to carry on the spirit of loyalty and dedication.
