Lt. Gen. Liu Chairs September Work Meeting and Holiday Briefing

Lieutenant General Liu recently presided over the Headquarters’ September Expanded Work Meeting and Mid-Autumn Holiday Work Briefing. During the event, he presented awards to outstanding units recognized in various evaluations and commended the efforts of city and county command posts as well as reserve brigades. He praised their proactive coordination with local support organizations in Hualien’s recent disaster relief operations, highlighting the reservists’ crucial role in assisting local governments and responding swiftly to emergencies.

Liu noted that since the disaster in Guangfu Township, Hualien, in addition to active-duty military personnel participating in post-disaster recovery efforts, reserve support centers across the country have rapidly mobilized, gathering supplies and manpower for relief operations. He emphasized that this demonstrated the reservists’ spirit of “loyalty to the nation and care for the people.” He expressed hope that, through the Headquarters’ service platform, reserve units and support organizations would continue to provide donations and materials to help the residents of Hualien overcome challenges together.

In addition, regarding reserve mobilization and troop welfare, Liu urged city and county command posts to strengthen their service desks and enhance military–civilian integration efforts. He also called on all reserve brigades to continue improving training for recalled reservists to build a stronger reserve force. At the same time, he underscored the importance of caring for service members’ well-being and using every opportunity to promote discipline awareness, fostering a strong sense of law and order among personnel to uphold the military’s positive image and overall combat readiness.
