Responding to the "Corporate Military Support" initiative by the Friends of Armed Forces Association, Lai Wen-tung, Chairman of Yong Cheng Engineering Co., Ltd., accompanied by the Association’s Secretary-General Chien Shih-wei, visited the Reserve Command yesterday. Ahead of the Dragon Boat Festival, Lai expressed his highest respect and sincere gratitude to the service members who remain steadfast at their posts to safeguard national security year-round.

Upon arriving at the Reserve Command, the military support delegation received a warm welcome from Commander Lieutenant General Yu and senior officers. In addition to attending a unit mission briefing, Lai presented a financial gift of appreciation to commend the troops for their hard work and dedication to daily combat training. He thanked them for standing guard and sacrificing selflessly to ensure national security and social stability.

Lai noted that a recent training accident involving an Air Force T-34 trainer aircraft has given the public a deeper understanding of the hardships and risks involved in military training. It also highlighted that every single achievement in combat readiness and training comes from the day-in, day-out commitment and dedication of countless service members. He stated that the Armed Forces shoulder the heavy responsibility of protecting the country and homes, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and mission-driven focus when facing any challenge or task, which commands heartfelt admiration.

Lai pointed out that the military is the bedrock of national security and social stability, bearing the vital responsibility of guarding the homeland. Having attended a military academy in his youth, he has always maintained deep affection and respect for the Armed Forces. He expressed that it was a profound honor to personally visit the unit to show respect and care. He hopes this visit lets the troops feel the support and warmth from all sectors of society, boosting morale as they continue to safeguard the nation. (Youth Daily News)
